Szczęśliwa 8
Eight people, their work, relationships and dreams — without a pitying filter.
A documentary about the everyday life, work, independence and aspirations of eight employees of Vocational Activity Centres in Lower Silesia. It gives the protagonists a voice and shows people with disabilities through work, relationships and dreams — not through pity or institutional language.
Context and idea
( Context )
A difficult social subject and a collaboration with a public institution. Instead of a campaign — a careful documentary that treats its protagonists as subjects, not objects.
( Idea )
Dignity through work. The camera accompanies people through their everyday lives, giving them the voice themselves — work, relationships and dreams instead of statistics.
( KOVA's role )
Full production responsibility on KOVA's side — from script to post-production. Initiative and funding: the Lower Silesian Marshal's Office.
( Deliverables )
( Distribution )
( Full film )
( Outcome )
Eight voices instead of one campaign thesis.
The film was made for the Lower Silesian Voivodeship Government, and the full version was published by Dolny Śląsk and made available on the Lower Silesian Social Support Map.
